Calligraphy with Laura Hooper

Images by Abby Jiu, via Style me Pretty Living

I've been long dreaming of learning the art of calligraphy. With my strong affinity for beautiful things and designs, it comes as no surprise that this unique and ... art has caught my eye. Especially since these days, it seems to be jumping at me wherever I look: on my Instagram and Pinterest feeds, in the blog headers, on the posters scattered around my city.

Unfortunately, there is currently no calligraphy course or workshop I could attend in my vicinity (I'm still looking into it). That's why I was beyond excited that I was able to live vicariously through the Style me Pretty Living. Their feature on the workshop with Laura Hooper, captured by the amazingly talented Abby Jiu, looks and sounds nothing short of spectacular, and I just wish I could have been there, too. But at least now I know that I can purchase my own calligraphy set, look up some online courses or tutorials, and try my hand at this extraordinary art branch. Will you be joining me?

PS: Of course I'm eager to learn calligraphy, but to be honest, in this feature, it was the florals who really stole my heart! Aren't they just the dreamiest and prettiest thing ever? Katie of Petal and Print truly has golden hands!

I guess it's one of those things you have to practice regularly, in order to not lose your abilities.

Couldn't your dad give you a lesson or two? Have you ever tried it? I've been crazy busy with my business lately, but I'd love to catch up some time! Why don't you drop me an email so I know what's going on with you?

Thank you so much, Alma! This sounds amazing! I admire you for being able to device your own methods! I'm definitely one to need a guidance, at least in the beginning. Do you still practice these days?

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment! I love discovering new interesting blogs, so don't hesitate to leave me your URL, and I'll be sure to check your blog out.

However, don't bother leaving any "Follow me!" comments that you copy & paste on dozens of blogs at a time and which show that you have absolutely no interest in my blog. I will follow your blog if I love it, not because you ordered me to do it.
