Glamorous touch: Thank you cards

Honizukle Thank you cards, $30 set of 12

I love stationery. And I love snail mail. Always have, always will. In this era of texts, emails, whatsapps and other instant messages, there is nothing that makes me happier than receiving a beautiful, handwritten note with a few well chosen words. And I equally love to make someone's day brighter with a lovely card. Birthday, Christmas and other holiday cards are a no brainer, but I've recently realized that I was severely lacking in the "Thank you" cards department. There are so many people and things in my life that I am thankful for, thus it only feels appropriate to acknowledge this fact with a piece of glamorous stationery.

Of course, when it comes to beautiful, unique and affordable stationery, Etsy is my goldmine. There are countless drool-worthy options, original designs and endless possibilities for custom orders. And that's exactly what I love. And as much as I'd love to have a signature stationery one day, right now I'm probably going to order some of these pieces (for sampling purposes, bien sûr) and maybe I'll be able to determine and narrow it down to my favorite one (insert doubtful face here). Will you help me? Which one do you like best? Which one would you purchase in a blink of an eye? I'm curious to know!

  1. Straight away I'd say the very first one is my favourite. The simple elegance is what I really like about it. Love pretty stationery and the idea of taking the time to handwrite a personal note. xo

  2. I love handwritten letters too, it's so much more personal than emails or texts. My favourite is the Honizukle Letterpress card. I love the simplicity of it and I love the colour of the font.

  6. Wish I'd seen this post last week. I went out searching for Thank You notes this weekend to thank everyone for my gorgeous birthday presents. I couldn't believe how hard it was to find :-( It didn't occur to me to check out Etsy. I will do from now on though.

  8. Ooooh, that Smockpaper one is so lovely! I'm reaching the point where I ought to restock on my card supply. I think I've almost used up my old, obsessed, second-grade stacks of dolphin cards. Perhaps I ought to invest in something more mature? (Though really, those cards were pretty nice. Apparently my 7-year-old self had a good eye for these things, even if her designs of choice were very one-track-mind). I'm not so sure I'm into the whole 'Thank You' printed bluntly on the front - I believe that's what originally led to my dolphin rebellion - but I do enjoy the idea of simpler designs for Thank You note cards.

  12. Hi Ivana, I wish more people would write hand written notes, they truly are more meaningful. This is such a wonderful mix of pretty cards, I loved number 2 and 4 in the second set. I think its the lovely colours that caught my eye. Thanks for your visit, hope your week is going well :)

  13. Oh my gosh, Ivana, that would be a hard decision! In the first group, I think I'd choose the last one because of the swirls that resemble calligraphy ... I love swirls ;) ... and in the second group I think I'd choose either the first because of it's elegant embossed look or the last because of the tiffany blue color, so pretty! I love personal stationery too. I read event planner Colin Cowie's book once (can't remember the name but it was on his personal style and his apartment, etc.) and he had the same color of giftwrap that he used for all of his gifts (chocolate I think) and he kept rolls and rolls of it and it became his signature look for gifts. Just loved that! Hope you're having a wonderful week, Ivana! Happy spring! xoxo (in answer to your comment on the One Style at a Time illustration, it would be so fun painting a commission for you one day ... just let me know when you're ready! ;) xo ~S

  16. These turn Thank You cards into an art form. Such pretty designs. There really are so many treasures to be found on Etsy. I still send Thank You cards every so often but I still recall when I was writing them every night for a week after my wedding. I had some serious writers cramp after that ;)
