How they wore it
I will be honest with you: I've never really got to like the whole burgundy lip thing. I've seen so many girls trying to rock this trend, but sadly I've yet to see someone who look great doing it (except maybe Maegan here, but then again, she looks smashing whatever she wears).
Now bright lips, that's a completely different story. They look amazing on everyone. They are cheerful, an instant mood lifter (just as a bottle of pastel nail polish), and they bring a touch of sunshine to the darkest of mornings. That's why I'm always so excited when I see bright lipsticks making their reappearance on the runways, on my favorite celebrities and bloggers, over and over again. And I'm happy to report that the spring makeup collections really didn't disappoint this year. All those gorgeous pinks, fun corals and dramatic fuchsias make my heart beat a little faster, and they make me even more excited for the warm and sunny spring days ahead.

I just bought Chanel's illuminating powder and it's amazing! I also love bright lipsticks and it always makes me happy when I put them on!

I like wearing bright lipstick - classic reds, corals in summer, etc.. Though you're right about the very dark reds, I haven't really managed to pull that one off without looking like a Adam's Family extra... Have a lovely weekend xo

ReplyDeleteMy favourite, of course, is red, I remember the first time I wore a red lipstick; my mom had this Lancôme bright red lipstick in one of her drawers but I didn't recall her wearing it, in fact she was always saying how much she loves natural or toned down pinks, so I thought it wouldn't hurt if I took it.
The moment I put it on I felt a little ridiculous to be honest, but after the initial shock it was magical, I knew that was going to be my default lipstick colour; and when I'm wearing it I can assure you I feel much more confident!

Lovely post Ivana, I am quite fond of this bold beauty trend, i just need to find the courage to wear such bright shades of lipstick! My favourite are shades 1 and 11, the hot pinks are dazzling!

I have to admit it was something that I was afraid to try for the longest time but when I finally did, I wondered why it took me so long. I still tend to prefer the nude lip look the most but I like to wear bright lips when it's gloomy out or I'm wearing a neutral outfit. I adore your pretty picks and I'm inspired to go even brighter and bolder come Spring.

These are all gorgeous colors! I suppose I kind of have a signature shade? I don't think it's officially lipstick, but there's this gorgeous hot pink shade of this lip gloss-ish thing from NYX, and I pretty much never wear a different shade, unless it's bright red.

Hi Ivana! Love these bright lip colors ... I'm always so jealous when I see a lipstick I would love to try and can't ... I'm such a sensitive girl .. most lipsticks contain something that my lips just don't like (boo lips) ... I think it may be the petroleum or some of the dyes used to give the lipsticks their beautiful colors and after wearing a lipstick for just a few hours I will feel a tingling and get a cold sore from them. Drives me crazy. Never get one if I'm not wearing lipstick. The only lipstick I've found that I can wear is Burt's Bees lipcolors because they're all natural in what they use for coloring and contain no petroleum (that's how I figured it was one of those two things that is the culprit). I LOVE these bright colors, so so gorgeous, and if I could wear them I'd be a lipstick addict, I know for sure lol!
