Beauty: My fall beauty essentials

Pumpkin spice lattes, changing leaves, warm color palettes, brisk mornings, weekends spent soaking up the last rays of sunshine...these are just a few things I love most about fall. But it's not only nature that undergoes the transformation. With changing seasons, I love to shake my beauty routines a little bit as well. Besides trying on new beauty trends fresh from the runway, I have a few staples that make a reappearance in my bathroom as soon as October begins.

It may be surprising, but even in fall, I'm drawn to bright pink lipsticks and lip glosses (my signature color), since browns have a tendency to wash me out, and I still haven't found my perfect shade of red. My nails go from bright neon tones to more subdued reds (like oxblood) and metallics. When it comes to my face, I rely on my beloved BB cream and a touch of bronzer to give myself a healthy glow. Purple smoky eyeshadows are my signature (they make my brown-green eyes really stand out), and I never leave the house without a coat (or two) of my favorite mascara.

After some experimenting with peroxide, I recently went back to my natural warm brown color. But my hair is still weak from all the coloring, so I show it an extra love with targeted shampoo and conditioner (Pantene is my fave right now) and at least once a week I give it an extra boost with deep conditioning hair mask.

Comes September, there is always a scented candle (or three) burning in my house. I've been in love with Fleur d'oranger ever since I discovered this perfume, and I'm already looking forward on splurging on this Diptyque candle on my upcoming trip to Paris.

Does your beauty routine tend to change with switching seasons? Do you have any seasonal products you only use in certain months? I'd love to hear about your fall beauty secrets, so don't hesitate to share!

  11. Ivana,
You have so many wonderful products listed here! I love everything by L'Occitane. My godfather bought me some Concentre de Lait body lotion. It goes on like silk and has a wonderful fresh and uplifting scent. I would love to try your Mac Fabulousness smoky eye palette. Those colors would complement my green eyes as well and I always have fun playing around with new eyeshadows. This one is in such cute packaging too! Does The Mac Glamour Daze False lashes mascara really work for you? I'm always on the look out for the perfect mascara. I'm part asian so I have to curl my lashes and heavy mascaras weigh them down and take the curl out. Right now I am using Dior Show waterproof. It does the job, but gets a little too smudgy as the day progresses. Especially on hot California days! Somedays I end up looking like a racoon. Ugh!

I love pink lip glosses too. I usually shy away from red as well as you do, but I have found something that works for me. I use a lip brush and blend Chanel Rouge Allure #58 Audace with Korres Quince Lip Butter. You can play around with it to make it more of a natural blush to your lips or a deeper dramatic red depending on how you are dressed or what the occasion calls for.

Thanks again for showing us your lovely Fall Beauty Essentials!

  12. I've heard so many great things about Kérastase. I have never purchased any of their products because the prices are so high but maybe its worth it to shell out a few more bucks if the stuff really works.

  13. I love that you still wear pink lipsticks in fall.... because so do I! I love pale winter skin with a hot pink lip! Have you ever tried mixing a pink lipstick with a sheer red? This might create your perfect hue!
