One of the things I love most about fall, is the wonderful color palette all around me. Leaves turn from vivid green through burnt orange to rich gold. Summer berries and stone fruits are replaced on the market with crisp apples and delicious pumpkins. I have to admit, that this year, I've gone a little bit crazy, shopping for the little decorative ones. They have the most adorable shapes, the most original colors and patterns, and they can be used in a multitude of ways when decorating your home for fall.
I took a cake stand and a simple woven basket and turned them into some kind of cornucopia (see the instructions below), with the most beautiful fall items that can be found on the market or even in the nature: little pumpkins, brown walnuts, buttery yellow corn and dried leaves in all the fall colors possible.
Decorative basket DIY
1. Choose a simple woven basket (I opted for a round one, but you can use any shape you want).
2. Take a piece of fall-colored fabric, cut out the shape that corresponds your basket (when doing this, don't forget to add 10 cm, so it overlaps the basket's edges) and sew its edges so the fabric doesn't niggle.
3. Lay the fabric in the basket, and attach it with a piece of vintage twine.
4. Now fill the basket with decorative pumpkins, dried leaves, walnuts and anything else that ignites your fall inspiration.
