I think I've already mentioned that my parents have a ginormous garden in the country. Thanks to my father we almost never have to buy potatoes, tomatoes or onions. He has a bunch of apple trees as well, some of them older than I am. And while it is true that I'm not a big fan of working in the garden, apple picking is something I almost never miss. I simply love that moment when I can devour an apple picked straight from the tree. And when it comes to perfect fall snacks, there's nothing that beats homemade apple chips. They are extremely easy to make: just wash the apples, remove their cores, cut in slices and let them dry in the oven (or, like me in a food dehydrator) until they're crispy. Come fall, I always need to have a bowl of them next to my computer, as a healthy alternative to chocolate and candy.
