Easter has never been one of my favorite holidays: back in Slovakia, we have some special traditions that I don't like at all, and I was always happy when I could escape them. This was our first Easter in Graz, and to be honest, it was probably the first Easter weekend in my life that I truly enjoyed. My brother and his girlfriend came over for a visit and our weekend was filled with lots of chatter, laughing, great food and great wine, long walks and delicious ice cream. It was just the perfect family weekend I was hoping for, and it has left me with a lot of energy and happiness for the upcoming short, but busy week.
How was your Easter weekend? Do you have any special traditions in your country? And most important, do you enjoy them?

ReplyDeletenow, when it comes to Easter I love the fact there are three free days ;) Estonian traditions are all about colouring some eggs but I did it when I was a child, not anymore. traditions are actually not my thing most of the time :P I brought home some branches (not willow branches like the tradition says) and decorated those with tiny Easter eggs. it's just beautiful to watch those bright green leaves :)

Lovely pictures! I think Easter traditions typically depend on the religion you practice, but typically here (US) if your a Christian you attend Easter Sunday Service and spend time with family/friends with a big brunch or early dinner. Typically the meat is roast lamb or ham. Ham seems to be more of the tradition in the US these days. This year, we were alone, first time since we've been together (6+ years). We did attend church (as we do every Sunday) and then vegged all day. Lasagna for dinner? All strange. ;) LOL xoxo A-

Ivana, this is such a wonderful look! I absolutely love the flowers and your fabulous shoes!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Easter ensemble! :) Especially with those blossoms on the background! How perfect!! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed Easter for the first time ever! What did you all do with your brother and his girlfriend in town? Do you dye Easter eggs or eat chocolate rabbits in Graz? I left all of my Easter candy at my parents house so I won't be tempted to eat it! Haha My mom hosted her side of the family this year, and we had over 70 people over for brunch! My mom is one of ten kids, and there are 36 grandkids and now lots of spouses/significant others and great grandkids! It's awesome!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend and looks like perfect weather!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE YOUR SHOES!
ReplyDeleteVisually this post is a dream from your blonde hair right down to your floral toes . . . .

I went to Boston to visit my mother's family for Easter. We had a mix of religions, so we had a Passover Seder on Saturday and Easter lunch on Sunday. It wasn't until I saw that children search for the Afikomen during the Seder and children search for Easter eggs before the Easter luncheon that I put two and two together and realized that Easter egg hunts are borrowed from Jewish tradition! I'm glad you finally had a good Easter this year!
ReplyDeletePretty outfit on a beautiful location. The tree with the blossom are beautiful and the shoes are gorgeous. I hope you had a great Easter weekend.

So glad you had a lovely time! Me, I'm not a religious person, and here in Spain it's all Easter is about, I much prefer aster in Argentina (where I'm from) where chocolate eggs and bunnies are given; here in Spain there's not such culture.
