Glamour is...

Image via

As a girl from a small town (in a very small country), I´ve always aspired to something more, something better. Not necessarily more money or more things, but a life rich with experiences and achievements. I´ve always wanted to live a happy and successful life, with a touch of glamour. This ambition lead me first to Paris, then to New York, Brussels and now to Graz. And it was the reason why I started this blog in the first place. I´ve always wanted Macarons and Pearls to be my (and your) guide to a glamorous and fulfilled life.

Glamour cannot be found only in a huge bank account, on the red carpet ot in the life of a movie star. You are not born glamorous, but you can become glamorous if you want to. To me, glamour is a state of mind, a lifestyle, an everyday choice. It´s in the details, it´s in all those beautiful things and opportunities that life throws your way, it´s in your perspective, it´s the way you see the world around you. And the most important thing to remember: you can be glamorous even if you are on a budget. It´s not abour the money, it´s about the attitude.

This is the beginning of a new series on my blog. I´m going to share my perception of glamour, tips and tricks on how to bring glamour to your everyday life, alongside with detailed how to´s that will help you discover your glamorous self.

This is what glamour means to me:

Glamour is when you feel confident and happy, when you stand tall and don´t apologize for who you are and what you do.

Image via

Glamour is in the decadent flavors and beautiful colors of the French macarons.

Image via

Glamour is following your own dreams and instincts, and not letting anyone tell you how you should live.

Image via

Glamour is in a beautiful bouquet of peonies, wrapped in an inconspicuous brown paper.

It´s in a delicious sweet treat that you prepared for your beloved ones.

Now it´s up to you to tell me. What glamour means to you?

Please, help Macarons and Pearls grow, and follow my blog for more stylish and glamorous updates:

  1. Love this!! I'm from a very small town in America..where this is no glamour really, lol. Your not expected to become much of anything, and now I live in Europe and all has changed. I have learned that glamour isnt money, its what you do with it and who you share it with. It's who you are as a person, your kindness for yourself and for others. The time you take to love yourself and others. Dressing well to show you enjoy who you are and not afraid to express that to the world. You don't have to have all designer items, just the smarts to wear your clothes well!! Loved this post!! Have a great week doll! xx

  18. Great Idea! Glamour is definetly in the attitude I agree. You just carry it with you in your confidence and respect for individuals.

  19. You are so right.. it is all in the attitude and the confidence. Not in the designer brands and the large back accounts.. how many times have we seen rich people in their expensive clothing look the absolute opposite of glamorous..

  20. For me, glamor is a state of mind. You can make anything glamorous if you want to.

By the way, that picture of Blair is one of my favorites. I would kill for her hair in that shot.

  21. I have to agree with you, glamour is all about the attitude, not all the stars from Hollywood are glamorous just because they have money, I can be as glamorous as the next person with inexpensive clothes!

  30. To me, glamour is standing up straight (with confidence!) and being your complete self 100 percent of the time but also being respectful of others. I think the most glamourous women develop that type of attitude.

  34. Truer words haven't been spoken. I know people who have lots of money but they lack class and elegance. In the same token I know people who don't have much in terms of finances but they are so full of grace and poise. :)
