I know that everybody´s been obsessing about Adele and her "Someone like you", but I love THIS song so much more! It has this rare poetry and simplicity that appeal to me. Beauty in its purest version...

Wonderful little things
Aren´t these flowers screaming "LOVE"? Well, I love them veeery much :)
I finally managed to squeeze a relaxed and calm weekend into my more than crazy agenda...a miracle, I should say. The last two days were dreary and stormy: just the perfect weather to curl up under the blanket with a cup of tea and a great book. And that´s exactly what I did. I love enjoying those moments when I have absolutely nothing to do (beacause I said so, my Filofax rarely agrees with me, but I´m learning to ignore it), and I can catch up on some great movies (The Gladiator, of course :) and my favorite fashion magazines. All in all, I´d love to have such a weekend at least twice a week...a girl can dream, you know?

High Street Princess

Watch out, Mrs. O, it seems that a new style icon has just emerged on the international political scene!
Ever since I saw Kate Middleton´s (aka the duchess of Cambridge) absolutely flawless look at her wedding, I´ve become a little bit obsessed with her impeccable taste and style. Nobody can rock the high street fashion like her, don´t you think? Zara, LK Bennet or Reiss, all these brands suddenly seem appropriate for any formal occasion (like royal engagement photoshoot or a meeting with the American presidential couple).
While chatting with Michelle Obama, Kate looked the picture of elegance in her soft camel Reiss dress and black accessories. Mere minutes after the apparition of these pictures, the brand´s site actually crashed down...so talk about the fashion influence!

DIY candle holders
I think I´ve already mentioned here how much I love the Tindra candles from Ikea. Not only do they smell really great (Rose and Tropical fruit are my faves), they also last for several days, and now I´ve found a way to give them a second life I like them even more!
Several days ago and for some strange, unknown reason, I found myself with a whole lot of empty Tindra jars. Before throwing them into garbage however, I had a second thought: what about a small and simple DIY project? So, I removed the etiquette and the wax stuck in the bottom, and I filled the glass with several layers of coloured decoration sand. A little tea candle on the top, and voilà: something useless has become pretty again. These two are now decorating my Mom´s brand new living room, and I´m already planning on some new color and texture combinations. What do you think?

Cannes fairy

Sarah Jessica Parker has always been one of my ultimate fashion and style icons. I´m always so thrilled to see her on the red carpet: her taste is almost impeccable and her style is so fun and fearless and without pretenses.
Sarah had several great moments during the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Not only she rocked a white hot Dolce & Gabbana maxi dress, but she wore also one of the most beautful Cannes gowns: a dreamy floral Elie Saab maxi, that contrasted nicely with all the monchromatic looks of the other celebrities. You can always rely on SJP to bring some drama to the red carpet!

Sweet breakfast
When it comes to the breakfast, I´m not really a picky person. On weekdays I usually have just enough time to grab a coffee and som yoghurt while rushing out of the door. However, I tend to compensate on weekends: whether it´s for a buttery croissant, a freshly baked baguette or a fruit cake, I like to set my inner foodie free. And I really love to bake the breakfast cakes myself: it always makes those lazy Sunday mornings even more special!
The first time I made this fruit cake, it was on Easter, and with 6 people in the house it didn´t make it to Monday...and I wasn´t even surprised! It has immediately become a new favorite, soft and tasty as it is. And of course, those little marzipan decorations are just too cute to be left behind!

Wonderful little things
Receiving such a beautiful flowers is one of the best things about the birthdays!
I hope that you don´t grow tired of my birthday-related posts (I promise, this is really the last one!). I must admit that I wouldn´t believe that 25th birthday would be such a big deal. But then again, it´s a quarter of a century after all :) And I wanted to share some more photos with you.
Otherwise, I got to do some serious thinking about a lot of things these days. There may be a big change coming to my life, and I´m trying to get used to the idea of moving again in the autumn. After all, moving to another European country (Austria, probably) is not entirely new to me (besides my home country of Slovakia, I already lived in Paris and Brussels). Yet, it may be slightly different this time, as I don´t speak a word of German and that could be an issue, right? :) It´s not definitive yet but I might get some language lessons very soon. Who knows what the future is made of? Let´s see :)

Yes we Cannes!
For the Frenchies (and I´m a real Frenchie for this one), Festival de Cannes is something like Oscars for the Americans. All the glitter and glamour, all the stars and scandals, it makes us dream, it makes us grunt, sometimes we think it´s thoroughly useless, but we still love it.
It´s a place where once a year you can see the most celebrities on a square meter and where you can admire the most incredible gowns. My favorites this year? Ines de la Fressange, the most elegant of all the Parisiennes, Sarah Jessica Parker and her fabulous Elie Saab gown and the gorgeous models Doutzen Kroes and Bar Rafaeli. Pure beauty, isn´t it?
But then again, all the dreams must come to an end. The festival is closing tomorrow and I´ve decided to put together a perfect outfit to "monter les marches" (to climb the famous 24 stairs) for the last time, both in steal and splurge department.
Which one do you love most? What would your perfect outfit look like?

Blue Tiffany
![]() |
| (Orsay skirt and clutch, Halens top, Deichmann pumps, vintage hoops, I am ring, Tiffany & Co. bracelet) |
The past few days were so amazing! After quite a long time I got to spend a few days in Paris with my boyfriend, and this long weekend was just as funny and relaxed as I could imagine. We hosted a little birthday brunch at our place (as I didn´t want to make a lot of fuss of the 25th candle on my birthday cake :) and it was such a great opportunity to spend some time with our friends while enjoying cupcakes, my secret chocolate cake and champagne.
My gift came in a little blue box from Tiffany & Co. and I confess that I´m thoroughly in love with my new "Please return to Tiffany" silver bracelet. It reminds me every day how lucky I am to have these great people in my life. I honored the occasion by wearing a matching blue outfit. My boyfriend bought me this skirt in Graz, and it has become an instant staple: it has the perfect A-cut, and every time I weat it, it feels like summer is already here!
On another note, I´ve made a few little changes to my blog´s layout, so now you can enjoy larger photos. I really hope you´ll like it!

Ashley and the Gala
My dear friends, I know it´s been a long time since I last posted, but I hope you´ll forgive me :) It was due partly to the Blogger recent humours, my various wanderings (4 cities in 6 days, phew!) and the general fact that our place has been transformed into a huge mess due to the ongoing renovation (and it´s been so hard to even find my computer!). But right now I´m determined to brave these inconvenients to bring you my latest stylish finds.
I know it´s been a while, but I still can´t get enough of Met Gala photos. All those amazing gowns and beauty! Be sure that in the followig days I will bring you some of the fabulous looks that inspire me the most.
Even if I´m unable to choose just one favorite gown, I can tell you without hesitation that Ashley Greene´s makeup was the one I loved the most. She has such a beautiful eyes and knows perfectly how to accentuate their almond shape. Flawless skin, warm chocolate eyes and glossy lips are all I´m craving for right now!

Graz getaway
![]() |
| (H&M skirt and clutch, Halens top, Deichmann ballerinas, Bijou Brigitte hoops, Orsay sunglasses) |
I met my boyfriend only two days before my birthday, and ever since, I´ve always seen him as my early birthday present :) We celebrated our third anniversary on Saturday by a wonderfully romantic getaway to Graz in Austria. The weekend was perfect in every detail: it was one of those magical occasions when you forget each and every problem, and you just enjoy your life...
We spent our time discovering the charming city center, tasting enormous ice-creams, devouring pizzas on the terraces and (yes, I confess) shopping. The only flaw? Once again the time passed too fast!!!
Today´s my 25th birthday, and I realize more than ever how lucky I am to share my life with somebody that loves me unconditionally, supports me in everything I do, and who makes me smile every time I feel down...
Have a wonderful week!

Spring soup
Spring´s been officially here for several weeks now, but right now the temperature outside doesn´t correspond quite well to this information. I´ve been dying to wear my skirts and dresses (especially when this, this and these are on their way :) , but with this weather, I´m pretty sure to fall ill faster than to get one single compliment!
So while waiting for the real spring weather to arrive, I´ve decided to improve my mood with a simple and delicious spring soup. There are no other veggies that say "spring" better than radishes and spring onions, and with one touch of nutmeg and white wine, it´s the perfect comfort food for these hesitant days.

DIY: Photo frames
Sometimes the simple things are the most beautiful, don´t you think? I´ve been looking for the "right" photo frames for quite some time, but I was more than disappointed by the selection. I wanted simple, chic frames that would complement the decoration of my place, but all I could find were overly decorated, crazy colored and patterned, and really kitch ones (I mean, who can pay attention to the photos when they are framed in something like this or this?)
That´s why I decided to make them on my own and exactly how I wanted. I had a lot of fun and I am really happy with the results: now my photo frames are just as elegant and classy as I wanted them to be, and they leave the spotlight for the beautiful memories.

The Royal Beauty
![]() |
| (Photos via InStyle) |
I must admit, I´ve never really paid much attention to her relationship with the Prince William, but ever since I saw Kate Middleton wearng that incredible gown and tiara with such a grace and elegance, I´m sure that she knows exactly what she is doing. And after all that she´s been through, I think she´ll have enough force to cope with all the constraints of a royal life.
If I should choose one favorite moment form the royal wedding, it would definitely be impossible. But I´m quite sure that Kate´s flawless and beautiful makeup would make it to my top five list! I was really impressed to learn that Kate (or should I say, the Duchess of Cambridge? :) did her makeup herself. It was so perfect, and it completed my 3S makeup conditions: simple, subtle and stunning! Chocolate smoky eyes, black khôl, a swipe of bright rose blush and a sweet nude gloss fulfill pretty much all my makeup fantasies.
I´m already looking forward to recreate this amazing look:

Like a fairytale

| (Orsay skirt, Clockhouse tunic, Deichmann flats, Orsay bag, Ray Ban Aviators, gifted earrings, Bizuteria snov necklace) |
This past weekend was in the name of love and romance: I was really thrilled and moved by the wedding of Kate and William (wasn´t Kate´s gown just PERFECT?), but I didn´t want to post the same images as everybody else. That´s why I decided to honor the occasion by wearing an outfit in a romantic style (my most recent obsession, as you could see here). My favorite pale rose tunic complemented nicely my sparkly skirt (last seen here) and the beige ornamented flats and aviators complemented this outfit perfectly.
