When I first read about this week´s Friday´s Fancies Mix & Match theme, I was a little bit sceptic. I´ve never really tried to mix various prints, because I´ve always thought that it was the most trickiest thing to pull off. But then I gave it a second thought, and I realized that this was the perfect opportunity to create my first mix & match outfit, without the risk of it being a complete fiasco :) I could try out different combinations, switch the items that didn´t work together, play with various colors and textures....and I had so much fun!
When mixing prints and textures, you have to be really careful, for it can go so wrong! The best advice I can give you is to stick with one color palette or various shades of one color. That´s what I did with my ensemble: I combined lace, polka dots and leopard. It may seem too much, but as all these prints are declined in various shades of grey, the result looks polished, refined and chic. To spice up the things a little bit, I´ve added several pops of red color. And I´m totally in love with the entire look! I could wear it immediately!
One of the things I enjoy the most about Friday´s Fancies is that I can dream out a perfect and stylish outfit without looking at the price tag. And I must admit, I´m always so inspired by the results that I usually spend half the Friday scooping up the internet, searching for an affordable alternatives to my pricey picks. Now, if you´ll excuse me, I have a leopard pumps and a red satchel to buy :)
Happy Friday everyone!
